Our operations can be based in offices or gas fields, onshore power plants or offshore platforms. Regardless of where we work, there are key factors that help each of us achieve.

A safe workplace

Safety is our number one priority. That means it’s really important that our people, our customers and our communities work in a safe environment. We talk about it often, recognising safe behaviour and sharing information to prevent unsafe behaviour.

We’re committed to achieving a zero-harm workplace, setting out rules we call "Origin's Life Saving Rules". By setting out these rules, we’re developing a more focused attention on safety and what to do in high risk environments.

Our safety performance is measured using a Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR).

Diversity and equal access to opportunities

Our Approach to Diversity

Gender equality is especially important and we're recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality from the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. We’re building a workplace that supports flexible work arrangements to encourage more people to choose a career with Origin.

So that we’re clear about what gender diversity looks like, we’ve set our targets for 2015. We report our performance against these targets annually in our Sustainability Report.

Continue to deliver equal average pay for men and women at each job grade.

Improve our retention of women in senior roles, with a target to improve our turnover rate by 15% in the 2015 financial year.

Appoint more women to senior roles, with a target to improve our rate of appointment by 15% in the 2015 financial year.
