Whether you're an existing or a new customer, your distributor may charge a connection/disconnection fee roughly ranging between $20 and $100. We'll let you know the exact charges.

Moving FAQs

If it’s before 1 pm Monday to Friday and you move tomorrow, tell us your connection address and date by filling the form above, and we’ll take care of the rest. If you’re moving today and need an urgent connection, please call us on 13 MOVE (13 66 83).

If you live in Queensland, you will need to be at home to have your electricity connected. For all other states, please switch off your electricity supply at the main switch. This is to ensure safety for you and your property and the technician.

If you're moving in the next three business days, we'll ensure your electricity is connected on the connection date, but please note that natural gas can take up to three business days. For an urgent connection, please call us on 13 MOVE (13 66 83).

Each distributor operates a little differently. You can arrange your move any time in the lead up to your move. You can even organise your move Monday to Friday before 1 pm for next business day connections. This means that if you arrange your move on a Tuesday before 1 pm, your move can be organised for the following day that is Wednesday. If you arrange your move on a Friday afternoon after 1 pm, your move will be organised for the next Tuesday.

If you're moving to a new energy provider and want to disconnect your electricity and natural gas with Origin, please call us on 13 66 83. If you've moved out to go overseas, call us on +61 3 8635 3485 and we'll organise your disconnection over the phone.
